There’s something in the air. With tryouts and preseason action underway across the country, we’re finally days away from the regular season officially beginning.
As we do every year, HockeyNow is celebrating the start of the season with our puck drop issue, chock full of everything we have to look forward to this year, with a special focus on minor hockey.
And just like the upcoming season of hockey, there are tons of great things to look forward to at HockeyNow this year. We’re shifting gears a bit around these parts to bring our readers even more on Canadian prospects, all the way from NHL hopefuls down to the minor ranks.
Building up to our increased focus on prospects, we’re super excited to introduce our first exclusive videos series on some of the top WHL draft prospects and POY candidates for 2018.
Make sure to get to know our 2017 winners in our July issue, available online, before our 2018 search gets officially underway.
We’ll also be looking out for some of our other past winners who will be breaking their CHL lineups this year, 2016 winners Bowen Byram, AB (Vancouver Giants) and Josh Williams, B.C. (Medicine Hat Tigers).
On top of bringing you more prospect coverage, we’ll have lots from ISS Hockey as they start releasing their NHL draft lists later this fall. Look for our 2016 Ontario winner Owen Lalonde to crack the first round this year.
We’ll also be bringing our readers more news from the school ranks, as the Canadian Sport School Hockey League continues to build momentum.
The league has been progressively expanding into new towns and building new teams and they were hugely prominent at this year’s WHL Bantam Draft with an incredible nine of the first ten picks going to CSSHL players.
Of course, we also have the 2018 Winter Olympics coming up in a few short months so look out for tons of features and interviews as the women’s team gears up to take on the world.
We can’t wait to bring you all the latest from the rink as the season opening pucks drop across Canada.
Enjoy our special annual issue and follow us online, on Twitter and Facebook and subscribe to our newsletter to make sure you don’t miss a thing.
