Favourite London Jr. Knights Leading OHL Cup Standings

It’s make the playoffs or head home day for several teams at the 2017 OHL Cup.

With eight spots on the line for Saturday’s quarterfinals, 12 teams will be packing up and heading home after failing to qualify upon completion of their final round robin game on Friday.

Twelve games are on tap Friday, March 17 at Scotiabank Ponds 1 and 2.

The London Jr. Knights are 3-0-0-0 with six points to lead the overall standings entering play on Friday. They appear to have secured their participation in the field of eight.

The Jr. Knights have scored 13 goals and allowed four against in their first three round games.

London will square off against TPH (Total Package Hockey) (2-1-0-0) on Friday in their quest to go undefeated in the round robin.

The remaining seven playoff spots are expected to be filled from the following teams:

Mississauga Reps: 2-0-0-1 (5 pts)

Mississauga Rebels: 2-0-0-0 (4 pts)

Toronto Marlboros: 2- 1-0-0 (4 pts)

Toronto Jr. Canadiens: 2-1-0-0 (4 pts)

TPH Hockey: 2-1-0-0 (4 pts)

Toronto Nationals: 2-1-0-0 (4 pts)

Elite Hockey Group:  2-1-0-0 (4 pts)

Whitby Wildcats: 1-0-0-2 (4 pts)

Vaughn Kings: 1-0-0-2 (4 pts)

Saturday’s quarterfinal action schedule starts at 10:00 am on Scotiabank Pond 2 with puck drop on Scotiabank Pond 1 beginning at 10:30 am.

Scotiabank Pond 1

10:30 am Quarterfinal 2 – 1st place Shanahan Division vs. 2nd place Subban Division

12:15 pm Quarterfinal 4 – 1st place Lindros Division vs. 2nd place Nash Division

Scotiabank Pond 2

10:00 am Quarterfinal 1 – 1st place Subban Division vs. 2nd place Shanahan Division

11:45 am Quarterfinal 3 – 1st place Nash Division vs. 2nd place Lindros Division

After four games, Whitby Wildcats F Cole Perfetti leads the tournament in scoring with 3-5-8 points.

Graeme Clarke from the Toronto Marlboros has scored 6 goals in 4 games to lead the OHL Cup in that category.
