While playing recreational hockey is an unlikely path to the pros, it does not mean you can’t train like the pros.
The C2 Huskies recently held a dryland session with professional trainers in an effort to boost team fitness as well as team spirit.
For Coach Allen Soltan, it’s all part of creating a fun atmosphere for his players while they continue to build on their skills.
“We had one game at Hollyburn where the passing was so beautiful, that parents were just blown away by the skill development since the start of the year,” said Soltan. “We have a super bunch of kids. I’ve been most impressed with the work ethic of the players during practices, and the grit and determination of the players in games, including their coming from behind in a couple of nail biters to eke out a tie or a win.”
Even in recreational Atom, there comes a time to get down to business.
“The second-half of the season looks bright,” said Soltan. “We are looking forward to getting back on the ice and the playoffs, in particular.”
